Dr Tracey Benson is a media artist, digital strategist and social scientist based in Australia, between Canberra and Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Tracey is currently working with ACT Education as a behavioural insights adviser in the Digital Transformation and Strategy space, focusing on developing a digital design hub.
Her creative work explores a range of media including video, online, open data, mobile technologies and augmented reality. Tracey often collaborates with cultural owners and guides – working with Indigenous Elders and communities, historians and scientists. Community and audience engagement are areas of relevance and this is echoed in her experience with government on environmental sustainability and behaviour change programs at the Department of Environment and Energy plus in her work as an educator in the university sector.
Tracey is a Professional Associate of the Institute of Applied Ecology at the University of Canberra, a Visiting Researcher at Victoria University in Wellington (NZ) and a member of the Group of Energy Efficiency Researchers (GEER Australia. She is currently a mentor for the 2019 Innovation ACT IACT19 program (GEER).
